ABOUT THE EVENT
EVENT UPDATE: We regret to inform you that this year's Advocacy Forum has reached maximum capacity. While we may not be able to meet with you in person, we have several resources to keep you connected virtually!
- The team will continue to share helpful policy resources and materials in the Public Policy Newsletter (PPN).
- You can watch the recording on-demand for Advocacy Forum Policy Priorities Overview and Resources webinar, here. This webinar included a briefing on the policy asks, talking points, and resources, which will continue to be helpful in our work to build stronger communities where all can thrive.
- We also recommend joining a State Public Policy Communities of Practice group to engage with peers who are pursuing similar public policy objectives. You can learn more about these groups and sign up here.

The 2024 Advocacy Forum and Capitol Hill Day is United Way Worldwide’s signature public policy and advocacy event. Leaders from across the Network gather for policy updates and advocacy training, engage with policymakers, and share best practices for state and local policy work.
At the event, local United Ways and 211s will gain invaluable takeaways related to federal, state, and local advocacy strategies, strengthen their understanding of federal and state issues, learn how to engage elected officials and policymakers, and network with public policy colleagues from around the country.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with federal lawmakers and share the extensive impact United Way has on their constituencies and communities. The 2024 Advocacy Forum will include an initial day of trainings, discussion, and relationship building with United Way and 211 colleagues. The second day will focus on Executive Branch policy, partnerships, and engagement, including opportunities to hear from and connect with federal policymakers about grant and partnership opportunities. The final day, attendees will visit Capitol Hill for meetings with Congressional offices.
**Attendees must arrange for their own legislative meetings, as a state group. Guidance will be provided.**
Attendees will:
-
Craft effective advocacy strategies that drive mission impact and resources and engage individuals and partners.
-
Network, learn, and share knowledge with other United Ways and 211s on public policy issues.
-
Cultivate relationships with policymakers, advance local, state, and Network-wide priorities, and explore revenue diversification opportunities through meetings with the Administration and Capitol Hill.
