PROGRAM UPDATES

The continued impact of COVID-19 within the many communities we serve reminds us of our collective responsibility to our families, colleagues, stakeholders and partners.  Below please see information regarding program cancellations, postponements and adjustments we are making in response to this evolving situation. As the current situation continues to evolve, please be sure to check with event planners directly to confirm status of their programs.

 

MEMBERSHIP TOWN HALL

The Membership Town Hall scheduled for Monday, March 23 in Fort Lauderdale will be held virtually.   

  • Program registration will be automatically moved to the virtual program.   

  • Hotel reservations made as part of the hotel block will be automatically cancelled. 

  • Transportation arrangements should be cancelled by the individual traveler. 

  • If you have questions about the virtual program, please contact events@unitedway.org. 

 

FUNDRAISING FOR IMPACT SUMMIT

The Fundraising for Impact Summit and all related meetings scheduled for the week of March 23 in Fort Lauderdale are cancelled. 

  • Conference registrations will be automatically cancelled and refunded within two weeks.  

  • Hotel reservations made as part of the hotel block will be automatically cancelled. 

  • Transportation arrangements should be cancelled by the individual traveler. 

  • Registrants will be receive a link to the flex credit travel reimbursement form before Wednesday, March 25. 

  • Related meetings will be rescheduled as virtual meetings by the convener. 

 

WOMEN UNITED SUMMIT

The Women United Summit and all related meetings scheduled for the week of March 23 in Fort Lauderdale are cancelled.  We will RESCHEDULE the Women United Summit. 

  • Conference registrations will be automatically cancelled and refunded within two weeks.  

  • Hotel reservations made as part of the hotel block will be automatically cancelled. 

  • Transportation arrangements should be cancelled by the individual traveler. 

  • Registrants will be receive a link to the flex credit travel reimbursement form before Wednesday, March 25. 

  • Related meetings will be rescheduled as virtual meetings by the convener. 

 

IN-PERSON LEARNING AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS

Programs scheduled to be held as in-person programs during March and April 2020 will be cancelled or rescheduled as virtual programs. 

  • Registered participants will be contacted directly with details on their program. 

  • For programs which are CANCELLED, registrations will be automatically cancelled and refunded within two weeks.  

  • For programs which are RESCHEDULED or become VIRTUAL, registrants will be given the opportunity to opt in to the new format and/or date. 

  • Hotel reservations made as part of the hotel block will be automatically cancelled. 

  • Transportation arrangements should be cancelled by the individual traveler. 

  • Registrants will be receive a link to the flex credit travel reimbursement form before Wednesday, March 25. 

  • Programs which have been affected include:

    • Advanced Leadership Program. First in-person session for March 10–13 in Atlanta, GA moved to online sessions.   

    • Onboard United! Overview of United Way, scheduled for March 11–12, has been cancelled. 

    • Fellowship Program, “United” Cohort. First in-person session for March 31–April 1 in Denver, CO postponed and moved to June 23–24 in Milwaukee, WI. 

    • Donor-Centered Fundraising, scheduled for April 8–9, has been cancelled.  

    • Donor-Centered Fundraising, scheduled for April 14–15, has been cancelled. 

    • Donor-Centered Fundraising for CEOs, scheduled for April 16–17, has been cancelled. 

    • Donor-Centered Fundraising, scheduled for April 22–23, has been cancelled. 

    • Donor-Centered Fundraising for CEOs at SERC, scheduled for April 27–28, has been cancelled. 

 

MARY M. GATES LEARNING CENTER

The Mary M. Gates Learning Center remains operational for currently scheduled external groups.  We are not accepting any additional rentals before May 1, 2020.  Current clients will be contacted to review the status of their programs. 

Safety is our number one priority for our staff and guests, therefore we have instilled some new policies in our building to combat the spread of illness including: 

  • Scheduling additional cleaning and disinfecting of the shared spaces 
  • Increasing the number of hand sanitation stations available  
  • Instituting a "no handshake zone"  
  • Requiring a full roster of guests/attendees prior to scheduled functions  

 

FLEX CREDIT POLICY 

Flexible credits are meant to defray costs of attending professional development opportunities and may not cover expenses in their entirety. Attendees may use flexible credits to cover reasonable registration, travel, hotel and meal expenses for approved professional development opportunities. Any expenses exceeding the reimbursement limits set by UWW would be the responsibility of the individual or United Way.  The complete Flexible Credit Policy can be found at United Way Online (log in required).
