Crisis in our Communities – What We’ve Learned

This event occured on September 10 at 2:00-3:15 PM EDT/ 1:00-2:15 PM CDT/ 11:00 AM-12:15 PM PDT. If you would like to watch the recording, click here.

The COVID-19 pandemic, the national reckoning with racial injustice and other crises have not only exposed health, housing and education inequities in our communities, but also exacerbated these disparities. In the face of these challenges, cross-sector collaboration is now more important than ever for community recovery. With support from Tocqueville Society members, who generously donate, advocate and volunteer on behalf of our mission, United Way is uniquely positioned to draw critical lessons from these unparalleled circumstances and lead recovery efforts. Crisis in Our Communities brings together key community leaders who will discuss what crisis has taught them; how organizations must reshape their recovery efforts to effectively and equitably address health, housing and education; and how United Way, in collaboration with its donors, has a capital role to play in supporting communities as they adapt to a new normal.
